COMMUNITEASE is Grippy Sock Burlesque's quarterly mutual aid show for queer BIPOC folks in NYC nightlife. This season we're raising dental funds for Artina Darkly! Artina Darkly A.K.A “The Dazzling Darkness” & “The Tassel-manian Devil” is a queer Latina performance artist from Brooklyn with roots in music and theater. She started as a s+ripper 10 years ago ‘till she found burlesque as the perfect blend of storytelling, movement & n00dity! She is a 2x New York Burlesque Festival Golden Pastie Award winner and 2025 Arizona Burlesque Festival “Most Comedic” winner. Her work has been featured in Paper Magazine, Vevo, and on stages nationwide from the House of Blues in New Orleans to NYC’s Le Poisson Rouge. Beyond performing, she produces shows and fosters inclusive spaces that center creativity, empowerment, and community through her production @Shakeitforgood !  About 2 years ago, Artina received a root canal and several fillings from an extremely negligent dentist who didn’t know what they were doing at all! The attempted extractions that were done after the failed root canal removed a significant amount of gum tissue, and caused nerve damage which then left another neighboring tooth exposed as well, which had to also be removed. Three teeth gone in a matter of months!  Now, Artina is aiming to raise $10K in the hopes she can start taking the steps to get her smile back and fix the damage that was done.
