Shirley A Tease

Shirley A Tease is a Victoria, BC–based burlesque performer and co-producer of Silk & Steel Productions. Since discovering burlesque in 2021, she has embraced the art form as a celebration of creativity, connection, and unapologetic self-expression. With roots in ballet and swing dance, Shirley's performances are grounded in classic burlesque, favouring slow-burn reveals, musicality, and audience connection. At the same time, she's equally at home exploring neo-burlesque and sprinkling in a healthy dose of comedy and nerd-lesque whenever the opportunity arises. Beyond the stage, Shirley is the producer of *Age to Perfection*, a fundraising showcase supporting the Victoria Women's Transition House that celebrates performers over 40 and challenges conventional narratives around aging. Whether producing or performing, her passion lies in creating spaces where artists and audiences alike feel welcomed, inspired, and free to shine.
