Nellie Minnelli

Nellie Minnelli is one of Australia's premiere variety performers, the Maven of Music-hall.

With a theatrical career spanning 30 years, incorporating professional classical ballet and many other dance styles, pantomime, cabaret, musical theater, vaudeville, music-hall and comic-writing.

She is a professional make-up artist and costume designer, a choreographer, director and a producer.

She became a trailblazer by starting the first and only burlesque and vaudeville school in regional Victoria and has been at the helm of a variety burlesque vaudeville troupe for the last 12 years.

Nellie has been involved in various capacities in over 600 productions in her lifetime, and has worked with some of Australia's leading directors, choreographers, musical directors and performers.

She has been muse to great artists, inspired others in poetry, song, storytelling and been the subject in films.

She has administered several performance companies, taught dance and drama in high-schools and mentored young performers to achieve their fullest potential.

She believes that live entertainment is needed now more than ever.
