Lola Demure
San Diego, California, United States

Lola Demure began her ballet training at the age of 4 in Los Angeles, CA. She attended summer intensive programs on full scholarship with Pacific Northwest Ballet, Ballet Pacifica and the Rock School of Ballet. Lola later went on to dance professionally with Pennsylvania Ballet in Philadelphia and California Ballet Company in San Diego.
In 2009, Lola Demure traded in her tutu for tassels and has been twirling them ever since. Now known as the “Prima Ballerina of Burlesque”, Lola’s unique fusion of ballet and striptease make her acts one of a kind. Lola has graced the stages of the Las Vegas Burlesque Festival (2013/2015), the Show Me Burlesque & Vaudeville Festival (2015/2019), the Colorado Burlesque Festival (2016), the New Mexico Burlesque Festival (2020) and was awarded a silver medal at the California Regional Burlypicks competition in 2015.
In 2011, Lola Demure’s son was diagnosed with Autism. Lola was looking for a unique and fun way to raise awareness about Autism, while also raising money for research. In 2012, Lola produced her very first show, Breaking the Chains: A Burlesque Benefit for Children with Autism and in three years raised over $15,000 for the San Diego Race for Autism. Thus beginning Demure Productions. Lola now produces a regular burlesque & variety show at the San Diego House of Blues, holding a residency for the last six years.
Lola has been on faculty with Flaunt Dance Studio in San Diego since its inception in 2016. Lola’s signature classes are Ballet for Burlesque, Burlesque Tease and Fantastic Floorwork. Through these classes Lola helps her students create a foundation of skills and strength to build upon regardless if they wish to become performers. Lola has also created a mentorship program for new performers. Through Music Box Burlesque Revue, students learn the ins and outs of burlesque business, costuming, choreography, booking gigs, as well as being provided performance opportunities.
