Cocoa Trixx

Cocoa Trixx is a Colorado-based burlesque and variety performer bringing a mischievous collision of hip-hop, absurdist performance art, glamour, and theatrical character work to the stage. Equal parts playful, provocative, and delightfully strange, Cocoa creates performances that blur the lines between burlesque, drag, clowning, dance, and visual storytelling. Inspired by artists such as Josephine Baker, André 3000, MF DOOM, and the larger tradition of Black eccentricity, Cocoa approaches every number as an opportunity to build a world—and sometimes an entirely new persona. From rhinestone cowboys and seductive clowns to masked alter egos and drag king characters, their costuming is as integral to the performance as the music and movement. With a background spanning jazz and classical music, dance, costuming, photography, and creative production, Cocoa brings a multidisciplinary eye to their work. Their performances range from slow, sensual striptease to high-energy hip-hop choreography, incorporating props, chairs, fans, character acting, and theatrical reveals. Cocoa Trixx is especially passionate about creating space for Black and queer performers and audiences within the burlesque and alternative performance community. Whether serving glamour, chaos, comedy-free absurdity, or unapologetic sensuality, Cocoa’s goal is simple: make the audience wonder what the hell they just witnessed—and immediately want more.
