This multi-award-winning performer hails originally from Juarez, in the state of Chihuahua, Bella Sin is a proud Mexican-Immigrant womxn who holds the honor of being named “One Of Cleveland's Most Interesting People 2011” along with the run running title of “Cleveland Burlesque Queen”. They have been the Executive Producer of the Ohio International Burlesque Festival for its entire 10 years and are the owner of the long-running Cleveland Burlesque formally known as Le Femme Mystique Burlesque along with taking part in Burlesque Hall of Fame’s Movers Shakers and Innovators showcase in 2017.
Historian Bio:
Bella Sin is a burlesque historian especially on Latin Burlesque History that covers the United States, Mexico, South America, and The Caribean telling the stories of vedettes, rumberas, ficheras, and burlesque performers of their time. They have been dedicated to burlesque historical research for the last 15 years alongside withe expanding the collections of The Ohio State Charles H. McCaghy Collection of Exotic Dance From Burlesque to Clubs along with donations to the Burlesque Hall of Fame.
Sin also devotes time to teaching decolonization of burlesque unearthing, research, and writing about legends of color along with LGBTQ+ legends of burlesque, Sin found fellow researchers Gigi Holiday, Darby Fox, Lady J, Bebe Bardeaux and Chicava Honeychild work inspiring to create the Latin Burlesque History lecture class that they dedicated to Marinka and Miss Toni Elling.
