Bebe Demure

Imagine, if you will, a dreamer by the name of Bebe Demure—her passion for the stage was not merely a hobby. For two decades, she trained as a classical dancer. Once a member of the Richmond Ballet, Bebe graced stages far and wide, from New York to Prague. Her journey, however, took a detour into a more provocative realm—burlesque.

Based out of Roanoke, Virginia, Bebe Demure developed in her newfound career not merely as a performer, but as a visionary, producing CYBERLESQUE in 2021 – a cinematic journey of burlesque directed and co-produced by Broadway star Tony d’Alelio. In 2022, she placed as 1st Runner Up Supreme of Savannah at the Hostess City Hoedown and since has been invited to share her performances in various prestigious productions and festivals.

Her newest venture, dusk/dawn productions, emerged not just as a company, but as a gateway to new and diverse talents in Southwest Virginia. The year 2023 marked another leap in her journey, as Bebe and fellow artist Ryatt Flair co-produced the inaugural Our Universe Weekend – a festival celebrating burlesque and drag with a mission of championing Performers of Color.

In 2024, Bebe’s appetite for performing drew her to pursue street theatre.  She co-founded the nonprofit Busk Roanoke! with professional busker Jefferson Rose, a nonprofit for street performers and the audiences who support them.
